How to make a sock monkey:)

ok so a big deviation from the theme, but im really not up to talking about what happened last night just yet, but i still felt like posting.

so...heres how to make a sock monkey like julian paul!

what you need-

pair of super duper cool socks!
2 buttons
thread
scissors
needle
a bit of stuffing
and any adornments you might fancy adding:)

Please excuse the rubbish diagrams, i dont think im very good with paint lol

turn both socks inside out.
Sew a seam that follows the pink lines on the first pic.start 3 inches from the heel and across the top of the sock.
cut the sock between the seems-this makes the body and the legs.leave an opening at the crotch by cutting about an inch and a half between the legs.(it makes more sense when you do it, you can see!)
Turn it in the right way, and use the opening at the craotch to stuff head, body and legs, then sew up!

With the second sock, sew seams where the lines are on the diagram. 1 is the arms, remember to leave one end open to stuff!
2 is the ears, 3 is the tail, and 4 is the mouth.
sew the bottom half of the mouth onto monkeys face, stuff, then sew the top up!give him a smile by sewing him some lips!
Sew the ears, arms and tail onto monkey, then all he needs is some eyes-sew the buttons onto the head, or you could use beads.

It really does make more sense when you are doing it, rather than just reading it!but if its baffling message me and il help you:)

I want a sock monkey, and a sock rabbit and a sock giraffe. It's going to be like Noah's Ark but with socks :)

Hi lovely, I just got your comment, I would love some help on where to start with the whole making clothes jazz. My mum has a sewing machine so there's a start!

Thanks for the lovely comment! xxxxx
