This is NOT a Pro ED/SI blog. I'm not pretending to be perfect, i'm not recovered, but I WANT to be.

today you are you
that is truer than true
there is no-one alive
who is youer than you

Grammer games

The importance of grammer!
ok im not about to go all preachy on you, if you've read any of my blog you will have noticed that A) I cant spell, B) I never check for typo's before i hit the 'publish' button, C) Capital letters just slow me down! and D) I tend to forget to use full stops andthismeansthatiwritetheworldslongestsentencesthatmakenosensesometimes!

But has anyone noticed how powerful the difference between saying 'I'm Vicki and im Bulimic', or 'Im Vicki and I have Bulimia'.

Cos saying it the first way-well it implies that Ed has ownership of you, and that you are in fact, your ED, which as we know, Isnt bloody well true.

So saying I have, or a suffer with seems like a much more inspiring and acurrate way of puttingit, dont you think, like its something I have and Im dealing with, but its not all I am.

I tried explaining this to a therapist once, and i just got a blank look, so if this makes no sense and reads like silly Vic jibberish please feel free to tell me exactly that:p

I used to try and draw how much of me was Me and how much of me was ED.and on days 'I was Bulimic', rather than 'suffered with ED', the me part was a lot bloody smaller!

BITE ME ED!

COS IM ON TO YOU!!!

That's really interesting I never thought of it like that. But it's true, if you 'have' and eating disorder, then it makes it possible to get rid of it, since you own it and it doesn't own you.

You are Vicki and you are amazing. That's all there is to it ;)

hehe

i totally agree. it is true, if you say you are your ed, you are letting it win but if you say you are recovering from an ed, it separates you somewhat. thinking you're awesome once again. i'm being a copy cat, couldn't be bothered with the caps, lol :-)
*hugs*
