costa del NHS

Its a good job I'm not working right now, cos i rekon I would have used all my holiday allowance up at the costa del NHS...

I seem to be spending a lot of time in hospital of late...this must be fixed.

Also because A and E seem to have a new policy about local anaesthetic and suturing of SI wounds..i'll let you dwell on that one.Stupid junior doctor, YES it does hurt to have internal sutures with no anaesthetic, and its completely different to SI, which im in control of-you may be missing the point...

I am going to bed to sulk about how much i hurt-but mostly about how stupid i am-cos i fully aknowledge that this is all my fauly anyway-just owwwwwwwwwwwww

ps im not ignoring people-is till cant comment on anyones blogs grr, blogger hates me

This is not your fault! And the doctor has no right to give you sutures without anesthetic--that's really horrible. And honestly I think he should be sued. Please take care of yourself love!

And that really sucks that you can't comment on blogs.

The rest of the Trixie books came yesterday so I will mail them out today or tomorrow!

That makes me absolutely furious that the doctor treated you differently just because your wounds are from SH. There is NO reason why someone who's self harmed should not get the quality of treatment that someone who's hurt themselves accidentally should get. Yes you may have hurt yourself intentionally but that does not mean you shouldn't get anaesthetic when they treat you. It's not your fault and you're not stupid, it's understandable that self harm is a coping mechanism for emotional pain, even if it's an unhealthy coping mechanism.

Take care,

Aw Vics! You could complain about that doctor, under the NICE guidelines for self harm they are ALWAYS supposed to give anasthetic for self injury. The guidelines are here - http://www.nice.org.uk/nicemedia/live/10946/29425/29425.pdf including "If stitches are required to treat your injury
you should always be given enough anaesthetic or pain relief." (page 29). You have every right to make a formal complaint if any doctor doesn't follow this. Grrr! I hope you are in less pain soon <3

Oh my goodness that's so unfair! You could try and get compensation for that, it's crazily mean. I hope you are okay and not in too much pain hun.

That's rubbish about the doc, and you deserve better than this. I agree with the others, complain if you can.

I hope the pain lessens, and if I could hug it all away I would. I'm not sure if you'd want any of my sloppy get well soon kisses though ;)
